photography information

for musicians

Kelly Mason by Kurt Cuffy

hello & welcome!

I am a music and lifestyle photographer with a soft spot for all things DIY.

With 15 years of experience photographing bands and a professional marketing background, I understand both the evolution of the industry and the power of telling a cohesive story online.

My main goal is to connect with Bay Area musicians and create beautiful imagery with passionate people. If you have a vision, let's bring it to life together!

Crafting a strong visual brand as an artist is more important than ever. Carefully presenting your online presence is just as valuable as making great music.

the process

My photography style is methodical with a healthy dose of spontaneous, and I love to work with natural light. I am an advocate for direction over posing and do my best to teach my subjects how to feel confident in front of any camera, even beyond our session together.

FAQ

• What do I need? Help.

Most of my clients need photos for social media and can make 35 photos last for an entire season. It’s also common to need photos for album art and especially single art.

• When will the photo session take place?

I work with natural light and prefer to schedule shoots for weekdays just before sunset. This helps us avoids crowds and give us the best possible lighting. Weekends can also be available.

• Can I pay in installments?

Absolutely! As long as your shoot is paid in full before the session day, you are welcome to split your payments into 2 or 3 installments for no additional cost.

• How do I get a license?

We will establish a contract with usage terms, and you will be provided with a license if the package requires it.

• What is the process of selecting photos?

After our session, you will be provided with proofs within 48 hours. This gallery will also be where your final edits are delivered.

• How many outfits should I wear?

This is up to you and how much time you want to spend changing during your session. Usually I would say no more than 3 outfits for a 1.5-hour shoot. Layers are your friend.
